Count Your Blessings

Life in today's society can be so unpredictable. We might not know what the day may have in store for us. However, we can hold onto the promise that our Savior when we do the things that are right he will guide us and/or provide a way to make things possible. When our daily routines get completely out of whack, focus on our blessings. When we take a deep breath and take a step back we will realize there is much to be grateful for.

Do we have a roof over our heads? Do we possess decent health considering? Is there food always on the table? Do we have a wealth of personal knowledge to rely on and know how to solve life's simple problems? These are some of the basic questions that not everyone can say yes. By identifying our many blessings, we can make life seem less of a burden to bear. It can lengthen our stride. It can provide a completely new perspective. We may not always have what we want but can be grateful for all the things that we stand in need of. Do we remember to take time to give thanks for the blessings we receive? Regardless of our circumstances, each of us has much to be grateful for if we will pause and contemplate our blessings.

Our lives are blessed daily in countless ways. We can lift ourselves as well as others when we refuse to wallow in ingratitude. Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues but also the parent of all of the others. Let us not wait until it is too late to express that gratitude even towards others.
