Jazz Open Camp

Recently the Utah Jazz returned to the public view with its annual media day where the players smile for the cameras and swap "What I Did On My Summer Vacation" stories as they prepare for 2008-9 NBA Season. They headed to Boise until October 3rd at Boise State's Taco Bell Arena to open camp. Their first preseason game will be October 7th in Anaheim against the Lakers.

There are certainly countless reasons for optimism for Jazz fans. Heading into the season Utah is injury free. The Jazz have returning proven experience and depth at all positions. There are no contract hassles needing to be dealt with. Lastly the "franchise" players are in their prime.

With any season there are numerous questions which remain to be answered. Is Andrei honestly happy? Were the Olympic duties too much? Can a reliable center emerge (Fesenko, Koufos, etc)? Are there enough minutes and basketballs to go around (Brewer, Almond, Harpring, Miles, etc) to satisfy the logjam? Is this "The Window" year with Korver, Booz, and Okur possibly bailing next year? Definately stay tuned Jazz fans throughout the year to find out. It's gonna be a fun ride!

Booze and Okur have the worst defense. They need to step it up big time and I think we'll have a decent season.
